Fresh from Google's keynote address at its annual I/O developers conference today, the company has finally introduced its hotly anticipated music service, tentatively dubbed Music Beta. The service allows users to upload entire music libraries to cloud servers to later listen to on their PC or Android-enabled smartphone or tablet using a specialized Music Android app.
For now, Google is giving you enough room to upload 20,000 songs that you can stream or download to your enabled device. In regards to downloading, the recent songs that you play through the service will be cached onto your device, allowing for offline listening. You can also choose specific albums, artists, or playlists to download in preparation for those music sessions without an internet connection.
Once your music is online, you can manage playlists (that will stay consistent between different devices) or you can use the Instant Mix function and let Google make playlists for you.
While in beta, the service will be free of change. Invites will be sent out to Verizon Xoom owners first or you can just sign up for an invite of your own (Only avilable on USA for the moment).
